Global Warming: Politicians are lying? Down that is...the truth on global warming
http://www.grinningplanet.com/2004/08-17/global-warming-political-article.htm
This article is talking about how politician lie more than that snake from the Garden of Eden. The author uses global warming as an example, saying that most climate scientists agree it is happening and politicians are paying a few scientists to disagree so it can be a controversy. The article is clearly biased and super liberal but it can be a good case study on how propaganda works. It also tells on what we should do, but like most articles and politicians for that matter, does not provide any plan for the means in which we should do it.

President Bush,s views

Global warming continues to effect our world enormously everyday as the president of the country decides to neglect the real causes for the situation that we continue to put ourselves in. Bush ignores the causes because he himself use to be a cause , he left the destruction to his friends in Texas who controls the oil and therefore controls the greater amount of the pollution causing global warming. The article goes on to talk about how Bush may have gotten scientist to change the causes that they have said before to another that doesn't effect his friends in a negative way. Bush still ignores the facts with what the article call a see-no-evil,hear-no-evil attitude and this isn't good for the world.
Is this the effect of human hands?

"Earth's surface has undergone unprecedented warming over the last century, particularly over the last two decades. " This is what one article from ucsusa.org says is undergoing our relatively young earth. Using words such as unprecedented to really put fear in the reader's mind. Scientist today feel that they have found better then ever the "human fingerprints" all over the global warming issue and it's effects over the last 50 years. The article contains charts that shows the direct correlation between the warming of the earth, warming of the oceans and the atmosphere shifts and thier inks to human activity. The article, written by scientists searching for a way to gain public support on the issues use words and photographs that show global is a pending threat on our future. The language used gives a very threatening feel "...the energy choices we make today greatly influence the climate our children and grandchildren inherit." They need to sell their data for their side of the debate and they are doing it pretty well in this article.
What do politians think?

Senator Hillary Clinton of New York State feels like the evidence on global warming is enough to tell that the world is being effected right now, she feels that there are a few thing that are keeping it from its full effect, but in her words"there is no dough that we are fighting a losing battle".Clinton adds a story of a woman who was fishing in a spot almost her whole life and she now sees deformities in the fish. This shows how it is effecting our environment right now and not sometime long from now as many do think.

This is an article that describes the current situation of global warming according to a NASA scientist. Judging by the heading you can clearly see that it is against global warming. This is just another example of the negative side of this debate. Pokemonmasta, this is exactly what you were talking about, scientists all coming to different solutions. You can see how they are trying to win the audience over to their side just by the title. "FIGHT TO STOP GLOBAL WARMING MUST START NOW..." Read the quotes in the article and you will find that the writer of this makes it pretty blatant with his global warming views.

Very unlike the top article, this article suggests that we need not worry about Global Warming.Although it is an Editorial, he provides a good argument for his opinion. Again, it's obvious that it's strongly opinionated, but i feel this is a good example of both sides of the argument. He uses words like hoax and brainwashing. His main title is "CHILL OUT ON GLOBAL WARMING" and his ending words clearly state his "who cares" idea about global warming.

The reporters from the times feel that global warming is a real concern that will not take as long as anticipated by many. Research showed how the glaciers were keeping the earth health but it also shows that the glaciers are mealting at a rapid rate every year. The reporters compare the earth to a human with a cold because of all the natural disasters that has affected us,such as storms and earthquakes.
